"Where the idea is excellence and the goal is perfection!"
This is our first blog. We thought you would enjoy following us with news and happenings around the farm. The weather has been extremely hot and dry. We are praying for rain soon! The grass is starting to dry up and has already stopped growing due to the ground being parched. The horses are doing well otherwise. We are waiting till dark to work horses due to heat and riding more than ever now that Maddie has decided it's fun! I can't wait for her to start showing leadline. Wait a minute...that means we have to buy her a show saddle, clothing, chaps, etc., etc., $$$$$ Oh well, she's worth it. The foals are growing like weeds and the mares are holding up good in this heat. We had a great show at S.E. Regionals in Shelbyville. Visit the SHOW RESULTS page for more on that. We are now preparing for the double point Promo in Georgia in August and hope to go to the futurity this year. We've been deep cleaning the barn and getting ready to start the new broodmare stall in a couple of weeks. Vacation here I come. Now I must go grab Maddie so we can do our rain dance! Stay cool folks!
The heat is finally taking a rest and things are starting to cool off here on the mountain. The only thing bad about that is the horse's will start "fuzzing up" before show season comes to an end. I hate having to blanket and hood these guys but you do what you have to do. We are leaving in the morning for a 2 day show at MTSU in Murfreesboro. Cheeto and Tanka are ready to load on the trailer. I just hope those freshly cleaned stalls hold up and their are no "brown spot" surprises under their sheets in the a.m.!!! The joys of showing ponies with a lot of white!!! Maddie is riding more and more every week. The only problem we will have with her is that she would rather ride Lincoln who happens to be Lindsey's 15.2 quarter horse. I don't think he's gonna pass for a POA! Well, time for bed. 4:30 a.m. comes early when it's already 10:30 p.m. Until next time!
